Savannah Fund, is the leading technology seed fund for Africa, and recently they announced a $25Million fund with the intention of backing early-stage Tech startups in sub-Saharan Africa with priority on supporting women entrepreneurs and disruptive solutions in sectors that has shown high growth.
This investment is led by The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group with participation from the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (WeFi), Tim Draper of the Draper Associates and Visa Forsten, Co-founder of supercell and Senegal-based venure studios (UMA).
This fund Led by Mbwana Alliy and Paul Bragiel will focus on Seed to Series A investments in core markets Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa, with and eye on expansion to emerging hubs across Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda in East Africa, with Ivory Coast and Ghana in West Africa.
The Key Sectors of Investments include Fintech, Education, Logistics/E-commerce, SaaS, Healthcare, Agritech and innovation at the bottom of the Pyramid.
